She's the British television presenter and It girl who's taking America by storm, appearing in countless magazine spreads, hosting her own MTV show, It's On With Alexa Chung (audience figures are said to have tripled in the first month and the show is switching from an afternoon to a primetime evening slot) and being embraced by the New York fashion scene. It seems Alexa Chung's decision to up sticks and move to New York with boyfriend Alex Turner, lead singer of the Arctic Monkeys, was a very wise one indeed. In one week alone the 25-year-old has attended the New York premiere of Quentin Tarantino's new Nazi killing fantasy Inglourious Basterds, a screening of the Vogue documentary film The September Issue, designer Charlotte Ronson's I Heart Charlotte Ronson Collection launch and hosted a cocktail party at the Fifth Avenue department store Saks for Calvin Klein Collection. At each event she wore a suitably stylish outfit, rubbing shoulders with the likes of American Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Samantha Ronson, Francisco Costa, Sienna Miller, Diane Kruger and Agyness Deyn. In the picture: Alexa Chung attends the launch party of Charlotte Ronson's I Heart Charlotee Ronson Collection in New York wearing a red dress by Calvin Klein Collection teamed with patent ankle boots, a black clutch and jewellery.
Diane Kruger is famous for two things: associations with A-list men (Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, Quentin Tarantino and Karl Lagerfeld, for starters), and for being one of Hollywood's best-dressed actresses, on and off the red carpet.
The 33-year-old, who hails from Germany, can be seen later this month in the Quentin Tarantino-directed Inglourious Basterds, in which she stars opposite Brad Pitt as the glamorous Bridget von Hammersmark, a film star-turned spy.
Prior to this, she was most famous for appearances in National Treasure and its sequel, National Treasure: Book Of Secrets opposite Nicolas Cage, and in Troy alongside Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom.
It is on the fashion and style pages of the glossies, and the web, that she is most familiar, however. Whether decked out in Chanel (courtesy of good friend Karl) at the Cannes Film Festival, or pounding the streets of New York in a trilby hat and skinny jeans, the girl is forever being lauded for her style.
Married briefly to French actor Guillaume Canet (who is now seeing Marion Cotillard), it is perhaps her current squeeze Joshua Jackson, of Dawson's Creek fame, who is her most potent accessory. At each of her public appearances he can be seen standing adoringly next to her, dressed in an ensemble that perfectly complements hers.
Since last May Diane Kruger has been promoting Basterds with aplomb, and day or night, she looks equally stylish. In the picture she looks youthful cool in shorts, and grown up sophistication for the Metropolitan Opera's 125th gala, right.
